Missing in Action…

I’ve been missing for a couple of days since my last post, I will continue my “Before Me” posting tomorrow.  For now I would like to discuss what has been going on these past few days in regards to world news.

The Zimmerman trial has taken a tole on many people around the world. Besides loosing a teenager we face yet again the sensitive subject of “Racism”. It could be that Zimmerman felt threaten for his life  but did he have to go as far as to kill Trayvon? No one knows what exactly took place but I don’t think its fair that Zimmerman just gets off free. So is this racism crime or just self-defense? Said to say this is not the first we will hear about crimes like this. I found it extremely ridiculous that they stereotyped Trayvon because of a hoodie he was wearing. Seriously so many people wear this and its not only African Americans!!! We need to realize what is going on in the world and work on getting the world to a better place. Racism is not something we are born with this is tought to people!!!

On another note, the Marc Anthony situation where there were people Twitting about him signing “God Bless America”. I really can’t believe that we still have people in America that don’t know that Puerto Rico is a U.S Territory “NO PASSPORTS NEEDED”.

WOW… this really made me think of what I had gone through and still in occasions confront with racism. The remarks that were made about Marc Anthony being of Mexican decent instead of Puerto-rican decent was truly disrespectful and very disturbing. These people went as far a stating that “Spanish is the language of the devil”. Now I’ve heard everything… being bilingual is a disadvantage? Seriously people get it together and learn how to deal with the fact that the hispanic community is taking over!!!

LEARN FROM US!!!

(Before Me post continued tomorrow)

My parents were born in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico ( located  in the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic and west of both the United States Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands).

My dad was born in Vega Baja and my mom in Barranquitas. Both families are large, my dad has 10 brothers & 1 sister  and my mom has 5 sisters & 8 brothers.

News alert ALL FROM THE  SAME  MOTHER  AND FATHER! Imagine that…

Thinking out loud my poor grandmas didn’t have much of a break in-between. ;-)

My dad worked odd jobs while in Puerto Rico like farming and selling to the local grocery stores, cutting hair in his neighborhood  etc. It seemed like the seed of becoming a businessman was in his blood all the time. When he was 16 he decided to venture in the big city of New York. Ah, New York the great city for opportunities, racism and much much more…My dad barely spoke English but this didn’t stop him.

Arrival in NYC…

He worked in restaurants and after awhile he came to the conclusion that “this restaurant thing was not made for him” he was antsy in obtaining more in life and learn as much as he could. He decides he wants to  take the test for his barbers license (something which he didn’t  go to school for but this didn’t stop him). After numerous visits and meetings with the hairstyling technical school he finally convinced them to get him into the next state board exam.

The day finally arrived in which it was his time to show what he knows and felt so comfortable in doing.

Colors… What do colors mean to us and how can they encourage us to be happy, succeed and enjoy life in general?

Colors create mood & emotion for most of us. It contributes to our being happy or sad. Color can convey more meaning than text and imagery combined.

I’m starting the Blog with this subject because the colors that I have selected  have a meaning and a purpose.

PINK: In color psychology, pink is a sign of hope. It is a positive color inspiring warm and comforting feelings, a sense that everything will be okay. Pink calms and reassures our emotional energies, alleviating feelings of anger, aggression, resentment, abandonment and neglect. Pink is a non-threatening color seeking appreciation, respect and admiration. It doesn’t like to be taken for granted and just loves to hear the words ‘thank you’.

BLUE: seeks peace and tranquility above everything else, promoting both physical and mental relaxation. It reduces stress, creating a sense of calmness, relaxation and order – we certainly feel a sense of calm if we lie on our backs and look into a bright blue cloudless sky. It slows the metabolism. The paler the blue the more freedom we feel.

GREEN: The color green is the color of balance and harmony. From a color psychology perspective, it is the great balancer of the heart and the emotions, creating equilibrium between the head and the heart.

From a meaning of colors perspective, green is also the color of growth, the color of spring, of renewal and rebirth. It renews and restores depleted energy. It is the sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living, restoring us back to a sense of well being. This is why there is so much of this relaxing color on the earth, and why we need to keep it that way.

Now do we understand why the logo to this blog has these colors? I want  this Blog to be a place where we can all have peace, inspire tranquility & hope but most importantly grow and be strong so we can achieve many things in life along with, sharing our life experiences so maybe others can learn and be stronger going forward.

Colors… lets learn how to be happier, more relaxed and less stressed with colors.
